Chicago school bans home-made lunches – Patriot Update

At Little Village Academy on Chicago’s West Side, students are not allowed to pack lunches from home. Unless they have a medical excuse, they must eat the food served in the cafeteria.

Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices.

Jamaica Me Crazy SCD Jerked Chicken


Jamaica Me Crazy Jamaican Jerked Chicken

1/4 cup minced organic green onions
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp organic hot pepper sauce
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 large cloves garlic, minced
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast (about 1 lb)

Mix first 7 ingredients in a large plastic bag. Add chicken, close bag and mix to coat chicken as evenly as possible. Refrigerate 30 minutes or overnight.
Grill or broil for 10 to 15 minutes or until done.
